POSITION INFO:

Main purpose of the job:

• To operationally manage a project aimed at timely implementation of high-quality work, setting realistic priorities and planning for successful implementation within a key population program and research environment

Location:

• NCDR - Jabulani Dlab Precinct, 0229 Isikwama Street, Jabulani, Soweto

Key performance areas:

• Responsible for leading and supervising a team of Peer Educators
• Accountable for study planning and logistics
• Implement, evaluate and supervise strategies that ensure study target achievement e.g. recruitment
• Supervise monitoring and evaluation measures and assure a high standard of data collection
• Maintain study files in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
• Ensure study is conducted in accordance with GCP, funder, and regulatory requirements
• Staff training, risk reduction counseling
• Assisting in the recruitment and consenting and enrolment of program and study participants
• Review study files and source
• Assist with data query resolution
• Tracking of participant visits
• Compile reports where necessary
• Prepare the site for monitoring visits
• Attend study meetings and participate in study calls
• Create and maintain work schedules for staff
• Employ financial acumen in areas including budgeting and expenditure
• Completion of Source Documentation
• Review of participant files for completeness

Required minimum education and training:

• Honours Degree in Social Science
• A Valid Driver’s Licence
• Qualitative data collection and analysis skills

Required minimum work experience:

• 1 years experience in working with youth and/or young adults in health communication or health education

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

• Computer literacy – competence in MS Word and Excel essential
• Staff supervisory and management experience
• The ability to facilitate groups and support the development of projects
• Able to exercise discretion and independent decision making
• Empathy and understanding for people living with HIV/AIDS
• Ability to work under pressure
• Reporting, presentation to funders, and contribution to manuscript writing
• Conflict management and advanced communication skills
