POSITION INFO:
Purpose
The Project Engineer will be responsible for fulfilling the role of the Network and Security Specialist as required for SANRAL tender specifications. Further to the SANRAL tendered role, this person will be part of a team of people responsible for technology research and development of new functionality, and/or bettering of current functionality. It may be a requirement for this person to lead this research and development team and requires extensive knowledge and experience in hardware and software development and management. Depending on projects and status of company affairs at any given point, this person may be required to act as Project Manager to manage programs, resources and budgets as needed. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for the Company’s IT infrastructure and management of assets and IT staff.

Education & Experience (minimum requirements to perform the job):

• Grade 12
• Diploma or Degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a related field. Professional registration – ECSA, PMP or IITPSA preferable.
• Valid unendorsed Code 08 driver’s license.
• At least 5 years in the IT field
• At least 5 years in a managerial position
• At least 5 years in the Toll System Industry and working with SANRAL
• At least 5 years in Project Management

• Function as the Network and Security Specialist for multiple CTROM Contracts.
• Collaborate with Tolcon group IT and design / manage company IT infrastructure in line with policies and procedures.
• Engage in project negotiations to understand the client’s requirements and develop proposal/s for infrastructure designs.
• Manage any sub-contractors related to IT infrastructure when implementing designed solutions for clients and/or Scenivision.
• Manage IT staff within Scenivision
