Project Engineer (MPE) (PE)

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer (MPE) with extensive working knowledge of Production and Planning for the Manufacturing Planning department.

 

This is a permanent opportunity, permanently based onsite with our client in Kariega in Gqeberha, previously known as Uitenhage in Port Elizabeth.

 

We are looking for a Minimum 3-5 yearsâ?? project management experience including specifications, competitive tenders, project management and legal compliance in a manufacturing environment.

 

Minimum educational level:                                                      

• National Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering
• Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning, procuring introducing (project management) new / upgrades to facilities incorporating.
• Preparing investment studies and options for possible new facilities / product by developing specification for the installation of Systems / Facilities / Equipment and Buildings / Civils.
• Preparing and presenting approval documentation for new facilities / product including technical evaluation of tenders.
• Overseeing project implementation by establishing sites, managing change points, coordinating stakeholders during construction, commissioning, Budget and Timing adherence.
• Tracking actual expenditure versus budget, progress payments and final payments.
• Updating layouts for projects and submitting to HLS layout specialist.
• Buy-off of new equipment with Final Acceptance Schedule (end of commissioning).
• Ensuring suppliers provide documentation for facility (operating manuals, maintenance manuals, drawings etc.)
• Asset tagging.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Have strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
• Organizing, coordinating, planning as well as resourcefulness skills.

• Good people skills and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Proven analytical skills with an innovative approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to achieve targets.
