Project Manager

SUMMARY:
A Project manager needed for a fixed term contract to assist with the construction of mobile plants on a gold mine. Role is based in Gauteng,Sandton.

POSITION INFO:

The function of a Project Manager (PM) is to manage, Construct and Commission Engineering and Bulk Emulsion projects. The primary responsibility will be to ensure the project team is well resourced, have the materials, equipment, and information necessary to complete the projects. The Project Manager role is ultimately responsible for understanding and accomplishing the customer''s requirements and goals.

The role requires considerable travel across Regional Borders.

The world''s largest provider of commercial explosives and innovative blasting systems to the mining, quarrying, oil and gas and construction markets, a leading supplier of sodium cyanide for gold extraction, and a specialist provider of ground support services in mining and tunnelling.

The role is to be based in Gauteng, Rosebank with travel to and from site.

• Engineering and Construction Project-Fixed and Mobile Plant
• Single projects up to A$10.0 Million, total Budget about A$ 50 Million

Description

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
• Prepare requirements/specifications review and Project Capital Management
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
• Interact daily with the clients (Internal and External) to interpret their needs & requirements and represent them in the field
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel''s performance) and
• Do Project reporting regularly to the Senior Executives on project status
• Prepare and provide punch listing and make follow-up on projects close-out
• As PM ensure the project is 100% closed out with Accounting.
• Assign responsibilities and coach project team
• Cooperate and communicate effectively, to aid and technical support where necessary
• Review SOW, and initiate appropriate corrective actions in line with MOC principles
• Stakeholder engagement and management- Communicate clearly and objectively
• Achieve Cost/Quality/Scope/Time as per the PMBOK
• Responsible for Project feedback/briefings and communication
• Estimating-various Class estimates
• Scope preparations, Design Specifications reviews
• EP/Capital Applications and Management
• Change Management understanding and implementation
• Strict adherence to time lines, quality and project plans
• Conduct Project close-out and Reports
• Customer relations
• Good Communication skills
• Technical Report writing and Presentation

Profile

• BSc Degree in construction management/Mechanical engineering or relevant field.
• 10+ Years of experience in a similar or related role
• Strong knowledge and understanding of construction field and/or Chemical Industry.
• Ability to work in an office environment as well as in the field as requested.
• Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office products including MS Projects.
• Prior experience in construction or relative field preferred.
• Proven track record working with people, teams and projects.
• Ability to work independently, within a team and in a diverse workforce.
