Project Manager - PV Plant

SUMMARY:
Great opportunity for an Intermediate to Senior Project Manager with experience managing PV Solar Plant projects.

POSITION INFO:

The Project Manager reports to and supports the Director of the Energy Team in relevant management and planning matters, as well as in project development. The Project Manager oversees the planning and implementation of a photovoltaic project. The candidate initiates and tracks the entire project with respect to contractual, financial and technical aspects and ensures that the project is completed on time and within budget.

 Main areas of responsibility are:

• Project Controlling
• Deliver status reports on the project for management
• Monitor all budgeted project expenditures
• Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and meet the project specifications
• Ensure that the project work follows the contract details

Project Planning

• Oversee the planning and implementation of photovoltaic projects.
• Draft an initial work plan.
• Support permitting and licensing process.
• Determine the resources required to complete the project.
• Review construction plan and schedules.
• Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
• Review the project schedule with the project team, suppliers, contractors and the senior management.
• Contribute to the contractual matters for suppliers and contractors.
• Define acceptance test procedures.
• Support sponsors to conclude operation and maintenance contracts
• Liaise with the different stakeholders of the project (clients, contractors, local authorities, communities etc.)
• Support business and project development team.
• Draft basic layout of PV systems, energy yield and financial models.

Project Implementation

• Execute the project according to the project plan.
• Develop forms and records to document project activities.
• Set up structures to ensure that all project information is documented and secured.
• Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
• Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization (e.g., liaise internally with Operations Team) on the progress of the project.
• Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
• Manage and complete acceptance tests.

• Staff development: supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff according to their skills sets.
• Assess situations to determine and mitigate risks and make clear decisions.
• Willingness to travel to site.

 Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in engineering (Electrical/Civil/Mechanical) preferred.
• 5 / 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Technical Project management background.
• Experience in design and/or construction of photovoltaic systems.
• Language skills: Full professional proficiency in English.
