POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations and Events Specialist to manage public relations activities, media engagements, stakeholder communications, and corporate events. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening brand reputation, enhancing stakeholder relationships, supporting executive profiling, and delivering impactful communication and event initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement public relations strategies to enhance corporate profile and reputation. Manage media relations, media queries, interviews, and media monitoring. Draft media releases, speeches, briefing notes, talking points, and communication content. Coordinate executive profiling and thought leadership opportunities. Support crisis communication activities. Plan and execute corporate events, conferences, stakeholder engagements, and sponsorship activations. Manage event logistics, suppliers, budgets, and project plans. Build relationships with media, stakeholders, partners, and service providers. Support integrated communication campaigns across traditional and digital platforms. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Corporate Communications, or a related field. Minimum 5 years’ experience in public relations, corporate communications, and event management. Experience managing media engagements, executive profiling, and corporate events. Experience managing communication suppliers and service providers. Experience within a corporate, public sector, government, or development environment will be advantageous. Key Skills: Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills. Excellent media relations and stakeholder engagement abilities. Strong event planning and project management skills. Crisis communication experience. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Strong organisational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Personal Attributes: Creative and innovative thinker. Professional, diplomatic, and detail-oriented. Strong relationship builder with excellent communication skills. Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
