JOB SUMMARY:
My client based in Johannesburg is urgently looking for a Purchasing Manager with a strong background on the manufacturing industry to join their company and develop purchasing strategies, review and process purchase orders including Managing other members of the purchasing team and maintains records of goods ordered and good received.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Matric
Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Procurement or other relevant disciplines
5-10 years’ experience in a Managerial role within in the same industry
Extensive purchasing experience (5 Years ) in Manufacturing - Non negotiable
Must be proficient on ERP systems preferably SAP

Job description

Enhance BBBEE ratings through monitoring suppliers and contracting and buying from BBBEE accredited suppliers
Ensure collaborative category management and collaborative supplier management
Define category sourcing strategies
Strategic sourcing
Stakeholder management
Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers.
Builds and maintains relationships with vendors.
Negotiating contracts.
Discussing and defining prioritized criteria.
Develop overall category vision and strategies in line with established procurement strategy
