SUMMARY:
Our client is looking to employ a QA Manager with Health & Safety experience to join their team in Gauteng.

Client is in the Petrochemical business.

Position Available ASAP

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

  •  At least 10 years industrial related experience & basic understanding of the products and services provided by the company
  •  5 years in a managerial role
  •  Relevant mechanical manufacturing/engineering qualification is preferred.
  •  Membership of an industry related professional body would be advantageous
  •  Significant experience in high volume manufacturing industries
  •  Experience of working in Quality Assurance
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
  •  Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
  •   Thorough knowledge of relevant local safety, security and environmental legislation i.e OHS
  • Act/COID, Environmental Conservation Act, Disaster Management Act
  •   Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001
  •  Working knowledge of safety systems
  •  Computer literacy

Overall Purpose of the Role:
  1. Provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality. Develop quality-process links with customers in line with the Quality Management systems (including: ISO45001, ISO14001 / ISO 9001   / OHAS18001)
  2.  Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans
  3.   Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes and oversee continued compliance and embedding across the business.
  4.  Responsible for maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize profit potential and ensure efficiency. Manage the audit programme as well as supplier development and improvement and play a key role in ensuring project deliveries.
  5.  Work proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Employees, to maintain a programme of continual improvement within their areas of responsibility. Lead a ‘correct at source’ and problem solving methodology (Lean). Lead the team to achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.

  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and  communicate the impact on Quality activities
