QC Inspector

SUMMARY:
A well establish company specialising in underground mining equipment based in Boksburg is looking for a QC Inspector.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Mechanical or Quality Management National Diploma.
• Certificate in quality control would be an added benefit.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role / mining environment.
• Hydraulics knowledge.
• Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
• Beneficial: Six Sigma experience.
• Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, callipers and computers.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Computer literate.
• Strong report writing skills.

Duties and responsibilities

• Quality assessments on all incoming materials.
• Reject materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
• View drawings, plans and specifications.
• Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods, comparing standards, measuring product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
• Checking and recommending improvements to the production process.
• Maintain records of results and prepare required Quality Assurance forms.
• Train the production team on quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
• Resolve quality-related issues.
• Maintain measurement equipment accurately by following requirements and calling for repairs when needed.
• Manage production process to avoid continued production of defective parts or products.
