SUMMARY:
Well established Heavy Manufacturing Company is in need of the expertise of a Qualified Quality Control Manager to join their team in the Germiston Area.

POSITION INFO:

Key Competencies
✔ Strong knowledge of ISO 9001.
✔ Statistical process control (SPC) and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
✔ Excellent problem-solving, leadership, communication and analytical skills.
✔ Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Education & Certifications

Diploma in Engineering Mechanical, Industrial or Quality related qualification.
Certifications preferred: CQA (Certified Quality Auditor), CQE (Certified Quality Engineer),
Welding Inspection would be an advantage.
5+ years in QA/QC management in heavy manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with metrology, calibration, NDT, and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with Microsoft office, and Syspro ERP will offer a distinct advantage

Key Responsibilities

Compiling, implementing and managing site-based Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 and Group requirements.
Ensure organisation wide implementation and adherence to QMS.
Conduct regular Audits to ensure relevance of the QMS.
Ensure third party audits are conducted as and when required.
Support QC foremen in all areas of production and monitor performance through set and agreed KPI.
To conduct and manage inspections in presence with the client.
Ensure instruments are periodically calibrated and registers are kept up to date.
Ensure quality documents are ready before any of the inspection activity.
Ensure production is prepared for customer inspections, i.e. correct products are presented, and the environment is safe to receive customers.
Respond to customer claims and resolve NCR in case if raised by the client.
Update and maintain works procedures.
Report and investigate all incidents and document accordingly.
Carry out remote and onsite inspection and auditing of different commodities for different customers and suppliers.
