POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the role:

To support both the Listed and Unlisted teams with the generation of well researched investment ideas, industry leading sector knowledge, strategic initiatives and contribute to growth in assets under management.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

At least 7 years’ relevant sector experience in the Manufacturing, Transport or ICT sector or as an Equity Analyst in one or more key sectors of the economy.
Post graduate qualification in Commerce, Finance, Engineering or equivalent relevant qualification. Master’s degree/MBA/CFA would be preferred.
Experience in undertaking research with implications for the economy and investments is
Experience of implementing research views in portfolios would be highly
Must possess the desire and ability to work in a collaborative and intensive team-orientated
FAIS RE5 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications

Post Graduate Degree in commerce, finance or Engineering/Science

Professional Body/Association

CFA, CA or other

Duties:

Produce Industry leading proprietary research that generates Investment views and ideas in the Manufacturing, Transport and ICT sectors.
Identify investment opportunities in Manufacturing, Transport and ICT
Undertake thematic research and thought leadership pieces in manufacturing, transport and ICT sectors.
Develop and update sector investment strategies for manufacturing, transport and ICT
Undertake market research analysis for unlisted
Support the deal team during due diligence process and in evaluating potential investments
Work with senior analysts and research analysts
