SUMMARY:
Our client, a leader in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry, requires the expertise of a qualified and experienced Quality & Environmental Management.  Relevant qualifications and experience as per ISO/TS 16949 and ISO14001 is essential.

POSITION INFO:
To lead, develop, implement and continually improve the Integrated Management System and to achieve Quality and Customer Satisfaction within the business and project landscape. The incumbent is the Quality and Environmental Management Representative as per ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 with all related responsibility and authority.

Requirements:

  • Quality Management or related qualification
  • Experience in leading, developing, implementing and maintaining quality in an Automotive Manufacturing Environment.
Knowledge and background:
  • Knowledge of relevant Automotive Industry Customer Specifics e.g. processes, procedures, policies, guidelines and legislation
  • Understanding of the TriMotive Stainless / mild steel business
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and controls
  • Knowledge of Quality Management processes and practises
  • Knowledge of Performance Analysis and Reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of Advanced Statistical / Analytical Tools and Techniques
  • Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and relevant OEM Management Systems e.g. Q1.   
  • Knowledge of OEM customer specific requirements such as APQP, PPQP, etc
  • Knowledge of OEM process quality requirements such as FMEA, CP, R&R studies, etc
  • Knowledge of supplier management relevant to supplier quality assurance.

Integrated Management Systems:
  • Establishing OEM, Statutory / Regulatory and other Management Systems requirements.
  • Planning for development and implementation of an integrated management system.
  • Appointing process owners and providing training / guidance to develop systems.
  • Identifying and mapping of core and support business processes.
  • Formulating, initiating and reviewing policies, procedures, directives and guidelines for the integrated management system compliant to OEM and relevant ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and other requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining documents records and made readily available.
  • Establishing and implementing document and records control processes.
  • Facilitating external certification audits / customer audits to demonstrate compliance to requirements.
  • Developing training modules and providing training to staff on quality related topics.
Analysis and Reporting of Quality Performance:
  • Reviewing the Corporate Strategy / Business Plans & objectives and provide direction for the development of KPI’s / KPAs. (QA&EMS)
  • Initiating workshops to articulate the performance reporting and facilitate development of a Business Plan / Quality & environmental Plans.
  • Providing assistance and guidance on the development and implementation of a performance reporting system.
  • Consolidate performance results into a Plant Report and review for accuracy.
  • Communicating results to the relevant stakeholder, and customers if and when required.
  • Facilitate periodic management reviews and recording of action items.
  • Managing the analysis of performance using suitable statistical and analytical tools and techniques.
  • Reporting on the performance of the environmental management system, including environmental performance, to top management.
  • Managing the identification, development and implementation of performance analysis and reporting tools, methodologies and best practices in-line with relevant standards and Corporate systems
  • Defining and articulating Stakeholder / customer / environmental needs and manage the process of analysing results versus requirements to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring periodic Systems Audits are conducted as per Plan and results reported as per the Audit Procedure.
Planning for and ensuring Quality & Environmental: 
  • Participating with development of APQP and Project Quality Plans in conjunction with the APQP cross functional team.
  • Defining and articulating customer quality needs and manage the process of planning for quality. Ensuring Characteristics are agreed and documented.
  • Establishing quality validation plans (PPAP) and facilitating approval of new / revised products.
  • Developing and implementing Control Plans and systems to validate product quality through all stages of the process. Has the authority to stop the process if noncompliance detected that warrants immediate corrective action (scope / nature of issue serious).
  • Monitoring and reporting of product testing / validation as per the APQP plan and customer requirements.
  • Ensuring Products are approved prior to volume production as per OEM / HGSA Aftermarket process requirements.
  • Ensuring product quality and environmental requirements are validated at periodic intervals as per the Control Plan, CSR and Standards.
  • Ensuring processes are validated at periodic intervals as defined in the HGSA Audit procedure.
  • Ensuring the environmental management system conforms to the requirements.
  • Developing and implementing a product validation process (product audits and periodic process inspections)
  • Developing and facilitating implementation of statistical process controls as per customer specific requirements.
  • Validating that process monitoring is conducted on process parameters as per Control Plan, e.g. Chemical cleaning system, paint line (film thickness, etc). 
  • Assist to ensuring measurement equipment is calibrated as per MSA requirements.
  • Ensuring measurement systems / operator capability is validated as per R&R requirements
  • Ensuring corrective / preventive action is taken as per documented processes / procedures (fast response problem solving).
  • Ensuring Supplier Product requirements are defined, communicated to suppliers and PPAP submission validated prior to release of parts for volume production.
Continual Improvement:
  • Defining and initiating Quality & Environmental improvement opportunities.
  • Influencing best practice and standardisation across HGSA processes and projects.
  • Initiating customer satisfaction.
  • Monitoring implementation and effectiveness of Corrective and Preventive Actions where necessary.
  • Conducting research on industry trends relating to quality improvements, new technologies, measurement equipment, etc.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and problem solving using appropriate analysis tools and methodologies.
Resource Management:
  • Recommending resource allocation and mobilise resources within the Quality Management to support the effective development and implementation of the business management system.
  • Creating a culture supporting achievement, success and delivery by ensuring that employees and contractors are qualified, motivated, empowered, trained and competent.
  • Formulating, prioritising, communicating and monitoring employee specific objectives in- line with the Business Plan and Quality Plan.
  • Developing resources and retaining the relevant skills and expertise.
  • Monitoring and ensuring adherence to HGSA Human Resources and related policies and procedure.
  • Management of financial resources as per approved budget.   
  • Monitoring and ensuring adherence to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental requirements as per below:
Provide leadership and support in ensuring:
  • All staff are fully aware and adhere to their environmental responsibilities.
  • That regular consultation is undertaken with their teams regarding environmental topics.
  • That employees are competently trained in tasks which have the potential to cause significant environmental impact(s).
Actively participate in:
  • Reporting any environment incidents.
  • Environmental improvement programs/projects.
  • Environmental training and awareness sessions.
  • Ensuring that they are familiar with and understand the HS&E Policy.
