JOB SUMMARY:
Our client, a busy fabrication workshop requires a candidate with experience in the steel fabrication industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications:

Grade 12 / equivalent
Level 2 SAIW qualification completed through an accredited institution

Experience and requirements:

5 or more years’ experience in the steel fabrication industry is essential as a level 2 QC Inspector
Comprehensive knowledge of welding specs within the steel fabrication industry
Strong management skills
Sound knowledge of fabrication codes is essential
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Computer literate
Reside close to Roodepoort
Have own reliable transport
Have a stable work record and contactable references
Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
Of sober habits
Able to work overtime as an when required
Be a team player

Duties and responsibilities:

Perform all quality related functions
Ensure QC data books are as per company standards
Oversee final and release of fabricated items
Complete pre and post quality checks
Able to read and interpret a technical drawing
Assist with various other duties required in the fabrication department
Follow fabrication work in progress and customers outstanding reports
Arrange inspections with customers
Assist with welding inspections, workshop quality requirements and general inspections
