Quality Assurance Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client in the FMCG industry has an opportunity available for a Quality Assurance Manager to be based in the Cape Town area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• BSc Degree, Chemistry or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Food Science/Food Technology Diploma
• Additional Qualification: Total Quality Management Certificate, HACCP Certificate, Management Certificate
• Full competence in this role is typically developed over a period of 5 – 7 years after qualification is obtained; relevant additional management/specific system training is advised
• Knowledge of ISO, HACCP, GMP, Food Technology, World class manufacturing and quality practices and models
• Specific product and process knowledge
• Personnel and human resources practices
• Management systems, Administration and Management, Problem Solving Tools, Budgets, Basic accounting, Mathematics, Operations management, Audit Compliance, BCEA, LRA
• Advanced Computer Skills
• Administration Management, Project management skills. Systems Analysis

KPAs:

• Development and Management of Strategic Quality and Food Safety Objectives
• Promote the importance and benefit of Quality and Food Safety in the operation
• Identify opportunities for Infrastructural GMP improvement initiatives
• The principles of the MDWT Quality Assurance module are championed throughout the organisation.
• External Auditing
• Risk Awareness and identification
• Evaluate and liaise with suppliers in terms of ability to supply raw materials or services at desired quality level.
• Liaise with Suppliers on Quality issues.
• Management of Raw Material Specifications
• Management of Finished Goods specifications
• Manage the Quality assurance and HACCP / Food Safety system
• Manage the Customer Complaints System
• Laboratory function is managed professionally
