Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Quality Engineer (Aviation) – JHB, Gauteng

We are recruiting for an experienced quality specialist to take on a QA/QC Engineer role for a leading company within the manufacturing and aviation space. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall quality of the manufactured products – ensuring that they are safe, reliable and meet customer expectations. You will also be tasked with maintaining the production process by keeping it as efficient and cost-effective as possible, as well as fixing any potential issues.

You will meet the following requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Quality is preferred
• At least 3 - 5 years of experience as a QA or QC Engineer – within the in manufacturing / sheet metal / aviation sector.
• Knowledge of Quality Management standards (ISO, IPC, etc.).
• Sound knowledge of quality control, quality assurance and configuration management.
• Experience in continuous quality improvement processes (Six Sigma, PDCA, etc.) with demonstrated results is preferred.
• Working knowledge in Corrective Action/Root Cause Analysis and Statistical Process Control.
• Experience in a design, manufacturing and product support environment

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Testing systems and procedures to ensure they meet technical standards and creating quality and safety documentation.
• Identifying technical issues and getting to the root of the problem, and proactively recommending solutions that will improve product durability and overall performance
• Improving, optimising and streamlining existing processes
• Administering Non-conformance Reports
• Ensuring that the build quality of products improves and prescribed standards for Workmanship, Process and Quality Factors are achieved on the production lines.
• Ensuring that Product Build History and Acceptance Documentation meet all stated requirements and traceability references.
• Interacting with suppliers and customers on quality concerns.
• Documenting processes and procedures on the production line
• Generating and documenting new processes
