Opportunity available! Our client in the Automotive industry is seeking to employ a Quality Manager to join their team in East London.
POSITION INFO:
Job Description:
Maintain the Quality and Safety Management Systems in accordance with SABS ISO 9001, IATF16949, ISO 14001 , ISO 45001 and VDA 6.
· To liaise with customers to ensure that customer specific requirements are implemented and maintained, including Warranty Systems.
· To ensure that Quality, Safety, Health and Environment requirements are met at all stages of process development and production.
· Co-ordinate, control and conduct technical analysis of customer returns.
· Liaise with the relevant Departments to conduct root cause analysis and identify countermeasures for customer returns.
· Monitor and report on a weekly and monthly basis on customer returns, customer complaints (G8D’s) internal and external PPM’s and continual improvement activities.
· Assist with any technical problems in the factory, including Problem Solving and risk analysis.
· Attend to any customer complaints and queries timeously and report back to production manager.
· Control quality policies, procedures, systems and standards in the plant.
· Manage and supervise quality personnel and ensure training needs analysis and necessary training takes place.
· Formulation / documented input with regards to Control plans, FMEA’s and Quality instructions in co-operation with the responsible Process Engineer.
· To maintain and exceed both internal and external customer requirements/targets for Quality and PPM.
· Prevention of internal/external failures through audits and corrective/preventative action methods.
· Manage and conduct regular Product, process and Dock audits according to VDA 6.3 requirements.
· Manage and control the receiving inspection, patrol inspection and final buy off inspection:
· Provide hands-on management of the elements of the IBMS (Integrated Business Management System.) These include quality action plans, corrective actions, supplier quality management, customer complaints, standard work, audit processes, standard procedures, test methods, and process controls.
· Evaluate the performance of the Quality Team to facilitate performance management, merit increases, promotions, job
· Working knowledge of process improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing.
· Responsible for operations-level reporting on the performance of the quality system to management for review as a basis for improvement to the quality system
· Working knowledge of Process Improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Business Process
· Develop a Quality culture that will drive Zero PPM and Zero Customer Complaints performance
Minimum Qualification and Experience
· Matric National Diploma (T3 / S4 / N6) Mechanical Engineering, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, APQP, Control Plan Advanced EMS, ISO 45001, in depth knowledge of QS 9000, ISO 9001: 2000,
· Auditor Qualifications: IATF, VDA
· 10 years Plastics Injection moulding experience on automotive plastics component.
· 10 years Plastics Injection moulding tooling development and manufacturing experience.
· 5 years project management experience on automotive component projects
Competencies Required
· Excellent working knowledge of Quality Systems
· Strong leadership, problem solving (including root cause analysis), project management, presentation, and facilitation
· Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities
· Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software programs
· Ability to understand timelines and current program status
· Ability to use statistical techniques/applications to solve quality issues
· Ability to strategize and implement solutions
· Core Tool Knowledge (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA)
· Problem solving Knowledge (8D, 5S, Root Cause Analysis.)
