SUMMARY:
Quantity Surveyor (Electrical Industry Exp.)

Our Client an established Electrical Contractor in the Cape Town area, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with sound knowledge of the Electrical Construction /Contracting environment.

POSITION INFO:
Main Duties & Responsibilities

Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor with estimating and tendering for new tenders. This includes preparing and assembling tender documents while identifying all returnable items.
Prepare and submit tender queries or clarifications regarding any ambiguities between the Tender Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and the Engineer's tender specifications.
Request the various quotations from company-approved vendors, including suppliers, sub-contractors, and Adjudicate the results according to tender specifications and ensure their suitability for inclusion in the tender.
Ensure that final tender BOQs are completed promptly for the Senior Quantity Surveyor’s review and
Review the main contractor appointments to confirm they align with the original tender documents before the Senior QS signs and return them.
Measure all electrical service drawings issued for construction, including site instructions and any approved changes made by the appointed Electrical Engineer throughout the main contract.
Report monthly on all cost changes and movements from the tender stage to the final
Ensure that all long lead and capital materials are procured in a timely manner, with regular updates provided to suppliers in accordance with drawing changes made on all assigned projects.
Collaborate closely with the Senior QS and project teams to ensure effective financial management of projects
Monitor expenses and submit monthly progress claims and reports for all assigned projects.
