Lead Control and Instrumentation Engineer (EPCM) – Jhb – 12 Months Contract
POSITION INFO:
Employer Description Our client is a mining house. Job Description You will report directly to the Project Manager: Concentrator and will work closely with the Project Office, Engineering Consultants, Construction Team, Commissioning Team, Operations personnel, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Provide specialist control and instrumentation engineering support throughout the project lifecycle while providing regular progress updates and technical recommendations to the Project Manager. The role will ensure effective integration of all control, instrumentation and automation systems to achieve the approved project scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety objectives. The position shall be primarily based in Johannesburg, with travel to the Project site in Zimbabwe as required to support engineering, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities. This position is offered on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract , commencing on a mutually agreed date (open to extend). The contract may be extended based on: Project requirements and progression, individual performance, continued support requirements during construction, commissioning and operational readiness phases. Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Control or Instrumentation Engineering. Professional registration with ECSA or an equivalent professional body will be advantageous. Valid passport and ability to travel internationally. Skills Minimum 10-12 years of experience in Control and Instrumentation engineering. Experience within mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial projects. Experience in EPCM and project delivery environments. Exposure to greenfield and brownfield projects. Experience in construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities. Experience with PLC, SCADA and DCS platforms. Platinum, base metals or process plant experience will be advantageous.
