Employer Description Our client is an original equipment manufacturer. Job Description You will be responsible for owning the group's entire inbound value chain: Group sourcing and category strategy, supplier selection and negotiation, demand and supply planning, inventory policy and international logistics. Supplier award, commercial terms, inventory policy and freight strategy are part of your KPI's. You will also be responsible for the monthly demand and supply reconciliation that produces one agreed plan across sales, manufacturing and supply. Qualifications Degree in supply chain management, industrial or mechanical engineering, or commerce. CIPS, CSCP or CPIM. Skills A minimum of 10+ years or more in industrial procurement and supply chain, of which at least 5 were in a group or multi-country role holding delegated buying authority. Category depth in at least two of: steel and plate, polymers and chemicals, rubber compound, bearings and power transmission, castings and forgings. Direct sourcing from China without an agent or trading intermediary. Supplier identification, audit, qualification and negotiation done personally. Demonstrated ownership of a sales and operations planning or demand and supply reconciliation cycle, including holding the plan against a commercial function that did not want to hear it. Multi-entity group experience with cross-border intercompany supply, and an understanding of why intercompany terms and decision records matter. Ability to build and defend a landed cost model and present verified savings to a CFO. Able to read a bill of materials and understand fabrication, moulding, machining and assembly well enough to challenge specification with Engineering. Hands-on manufacturing ERP, covering item master governance, MRP, minimum order quantities, lead time maintenance and purchase pricing. Incoterms, customs, imports and exports into Africa, South America, Australia and Asia. Willing and practically able to reside in Mauritius and travel at the level above.
