Staff manager Remote adventure destinations

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Client offers an extreme adventure destination experience which is at the top end of luxury and exclusivity. The company is multi-award winning with a high global reach of both clientele and employees.

This role for the Staff Manager is responsible for seasonal contractors who come to work at their remote locations to support the delivery of the season from November through to end February each year. Work hours are long and unsociable during season with a 24/7 approach. Out of season, this role takes care of communication and logistics.

The role involves:

  • Assisting heads of departments with recruitment of seasonal contractors, communicating with all candidates, set up interviews and provide feedback
  • Responsible for ensuring all seasonal contractors are correctly and legally onboarded in accordance with the legal requirements
  • Handling all pre-season communication staff including employment contracts and securing other documentation
  • Organising and record logistical plans for all staff member, ensuring they are in the right place at the right time with the right documentation in place (flights, transfers, hotels, kit)
  • Ensuring all contractors know and understand policies and procedure
  • Work with heads of departments as they develop training manuals for the seasonal contracts
  • Ensuring that all contractors are fully trained and ready pre-season

In season

  • Serves as the first point of contact for contractors in season
  • Ensures that contractors receive training regardless of start dates
  • Coordination of the above training schedule, ensuring all relevant players are informed on what needs to be done and when
  • Coordination of kit fittings for all staff, keeping a log of items taken by each staff member
  • Provide necessary support to staff while in Cape Town

The person:

  • 6-8 years’ experience in high volume recruitment and team onboarding projects
  • Outstanding admin skills and strong attention to detail
  • Superior capacity; able to comfortably & confidently manage multiple tasks at any one time
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Agile, unflustered, thrives when the pressure is on, manages stress well
  • Excellent people skills
  • Strong contributor to team (delivers both the WHAT and the HOW to a very high standard)
  • Able to effectively build relationships at all levels (and across diverse backgrounds and nationalities)
  • Experience of travel logistics a definite advantage
