Recruitment and Retention Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager the Recruitment and Retention Specialist is responsible for the management of recruitment and retention strategies and functions. He/she is accountable for the acquisition and retention of talents process, the implementation and consistent application of recruitment, on boarding and training processes, periodic processes review. He/she is directly involved in recruitment of key profiles and senior managers.

Retention:

  • Work closely with the HR team (Training & Development, HRBP’s and HR Admin) to understand the various areas of the business, create and implement retention strategies accordingly.
  • Scrutinise the induction / on boarding process (including the induction pack) and implement improvements to support positive retentions results.
  • Keep updated on industry related statistics and trends and implement to ensure improved retention measures.
  • Work closely with the HRBP’s to understand the performance management processes and provide support and input from a retentions perspective.
  • Provide support to management through the creation and implementation of specific development, succession and other plans.
  • Assist the Training and Development team with the coordination and participation in Career Days, Open Days etc. For learnerships / graduate programs.
  • Assist the HRBP’s with the coordination and participation in various Employee Health & Wellness Programs
  • Manage and implement plans identified through the career committee process
  • Manage the performance appraisal process in conjunction with the HRSSC team
  • Manage job and competency profiling and maintain this process through frequent audits
  • Manage and lead the grading of all positions within the organization in conjunction with the HRBP’s
  • Ensure all job descriptions are updated, and create new job descriptions as required with input from the Manager and HRBP
  • Create and implement a retention, recruitment and on boarding policy which supports the company’s employment equity and business strategies
  • Submit monthly reports for recruitment and retention initiatives

Recruitment

  • Manage the recruitment function in conjunction with the Snr.Recruitment Officer.
  • Draft, implement and communicate a recruitment policy throughout the organization
  • Ensure recruitment is carried out in the most feasible and efficient manner
  • Manage the recruitment spend for the business.
  • Actively negotiate the best rates / placement fees with agencies
  • Ensure SLA’s for all agencies are in place and updated
  • Implement processes to improve the turnaround time of placements
  • Take the lead on the recruitment of Senior positions as required
  • Assist the team with benchmarking, package negotiations etc.
  • Ensure the proper management of recruitment and retentions functions as well as the Snr.Recruitment Officer Ensure monthly reports are submitted timeously
  • Ensure continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the recruitment and retentions team Requirements:
    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification
    • Degree in Psychology or HR advantageous
    • Advance MS Excel with strong focus on V-lookups and Pivots
    • Working knowledge of Visio advantageous
    • Advance MS Word and PowerPoint
    • Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
    • Strong planning and organising experience
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • 5 years recruitment experience including headhunting
    • 2 years Retentions experience
    • Supervising of recruitment staff and administrators advantageous
    • Good negotiation and networking skills
    • The individual needs to have exposure to HR from a Generalist perspective, with focus on recruitment and retentions as well as strong administration / excel / reporting skills. Advanced excel test (with focus on pivots and v look ups)
    • Someone who has been involved in wellness, retentions and change management programs within their organization
    • High focus placed on the individuals Excel capabilities.
