SUMMARY:
Regional Accountant - Services required for Global OEM in the heavy commercial vehicle industry situated in Johannesburg to provide financial and commercial support to regional management in compliance with IFRS

POSITION INFO:
Summary of the Role:

The primary responsibility for the regional accountant is to provide financial and commercial support to regional management. The Accountant is also assumed to be driving continuous improvement activities with the ambition to optimize financial and operational processes in the region while at the same time ensuring full compliance  with IFRS, The Client’s Financial Guide, Corporate Governance and the internal control framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide financial and commercial support to regional management in order to enable quick, accurate and efficient decision making
• Develop strong relationships with regional management to help them improve and strengthen their businesses
• Fully responsible for preparation and follow up of all financial routines and processes such as:
  • Certain month end closing routines, reporting and analysis
  • Preparing management accounts and KPI´s
  • Annual Market Plan (Budget)
  • CAPEX/Investment calculations and management of the regional fixed asset process
  • Overseeing the local stock take procedure
  • Basware and subcontractor controlling
  • Analysis of COGS and expenses
  • Petty cash and cash box controlling
• Preparation of Board packages and Management presentations
• Drive policy implementation and monitor compliance of the policies by performing internal audit procedures as required by Head Office. The Accountant is also expected to play an active part in ensuring that deviations from these audits are rectified timely.
• Strong emphasis on Debtors Management in liasion with the Group Credit Manager as well as local Management
• Participate in ad hoc projects as and if required
