Regional Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Regional Container Operations Manger to join their friendly team at their headoffice in Durban. This position reports directly to the M D and Director Candidates must have experience in full & empty container depot with management experience

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

 • Ensures overall organizational integrity within the sites through compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

• Oversee and be fully involved in the operations of the empty container yard

• Learn in-house processes and systems to better facilitate on-site operations and increase efficiency; guide and educate lower-level management.

• Assist to expand business revenue by exploring all logistics opportunities with Customers.

• Maintain an understanding of and demonstrate customer service processes; communicate effectively and professionally with assigned customer personnel while developing positive and solid relationships to enhance growth and ensure customer commitments are being met.

• Provide regional support to the Operations teams at both sites, which will include serving as a back-up for the Depot Manager in the full yard, as well as assisting with the day-to-day operations

• Develop and maintain a positive and motivated office environment by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations

• Review and develop processes to prevent losses; execute cost saving measures and maximise company profits

• Ensure that all branches follow the company health and safety protocols and policies and procedures. Collaborate with HR to review policies, implement new policies and procedures and to address disciplinary matters.

• Minimize and effectively resolve staff conflicts or complaints

• Establish and maintain relationships with service providers and suppliers to obtain quotations and negotiate prices
