Overview

As a Relief Manager, you will be an anchor at Saseka Tented Camp. You will partner with the Lodge Manager and anchor the lodge when they are not available. You will work across all the departments in the lodge. You will be integral to the success of the lodge by ensuring that the teams are aware of their requirements and continually aiming to exceed expectations. You will ensure that our guests are always receiving a world-class experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the Saseka Team
• Anchoring the lodge while the Lodge Manager is not available
• Assisting with all Health and Safety protocols
• Assisting with the maintenance system
• Assisting with team-related issues
• Monitor, control, and record stock levels for all departments
• Timeous support and communication with other departments across the business
• Assist, if required, with central procurement/deliveries and invoicing
• Daily administration
• Hosting
• Ensure that Thornybush is recognised as an award-winning and world-leading lodge
• Upholding the Thornybush brand and overall operational standards
• Ensuring an overall world-class guest experience

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Relief/Assistant Lodge Manager
• Relevant hospitality qualification
• Basic accounting/bookkeeping skills
• Knowledge of reservations systems (Travelyst experience will be advantageous)
• Experienced in assisting with health & safety, maintenance, stock control, central procurement, invoicing, admin, hosting
• Must have experience in leading a large team
• Driver's license is essential

Position Details

• Contract type: Permanent
• Site: Saseka in Thornybush Private Nature Reserve
• Work Cycle: 6 weeks on : 2 weeks off
• Benefits: Accommodation, Meals and Uniform
• Remuneration: Cash + Provident Fund (Old Mutual) 7,5% + Medical Aid (Discovery) 50%
