POSITION INFO:
This is a high-impact opportunity for a technically dominant CA(SA) to step into a JSE-listed environment where the quality of financial reporting is business-critical. The role sits at the centre of statutory, technical and consolidated reporting, driving compliance, accuracy and governance across a complex, multi-entity group. This position suits someone who is not only technically strong in IFRS and JSE requirements, but who can operate with authority in senior finance environments and influence at executive level. The business is looking for a specialist who can own external reporting, guide technical decisions, and elevate the standard of reporting across the group.

In this role, the focus is on end-to-end ownership of consolidated financial reporting, technical accounting leadership and governance. Exposure to integrated reporting, external stakeholder engagement and strategic projects makes this ideal for a candidate looking to build long-term executive capability within a listed environment.

Duties:

• Lead preparation and review of annual and interim consolidated financial statements
• Oversee the preparation of the integrated annual report and interim reports in line with KING IV
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, JSE Listings Requirements and the Companies Act
• Co-manage external audit processes and deliverables
• Prepare technical IFRS position papers and accounting interpretations
• Review and oversee JSE circulars, SENS announcements and statutory filings, including iXBRL submissions
• Provide technical accounting guidance across the group
• Maintain and update internal technical accounting manuals
• Analyse, interpret and implement new and amended IFRS standards
• Deliver technical accounting training to finance teams
• Mentor and support a team of technical CA(SA)s
• Support M&A transactions, valuations and strategic finance projects
• Strengthen financial governance, internal controls and reporting framework

• Matric (Grade 12)
• CA(SA) designation (essential)

• 5–10 years’ experience in technical accounting and external reporting within a JSE-listed environment
• Big Four audit background advantageous
• Proven experience in IFRS reporting and complex group consolidations
• Experience with IFRS 9 and complex financial instruments

• Expert-level knowledge of IFRS, the Companies Act and JSE Listings Requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Leadership capability within technical finance environments
