Our client is an award-winning global research organization based in Durban. Their work focuses on high-impact research in HIV, TB, and Covid-19, contributing to advancements in vaccines, pathogenesis, epidemiology, and treatment.

An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced Research Pharmacist to join the clinical research team at their Durban 

Minimum Requirements

• Current registration as a practising Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council.

• Previous experience in clinical trial or research pharmacy.

• Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subjects Protection.

Advantageous (but not compulsory):

• Experience dispensing ART or preparing injectable agents in a hospital or clinical setting.

• Previous experience in a quality assurance role.

• Ability to provide medication adherence counselling.

• Fluency in isiZulu.

• Strong computer literacy, especially in MS Office.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and contribute within a multi-disciplinary team.

• Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain pharmacy procedures for specific study protocols.

• Dispense and account for both study-related and general medication.

• Manage procurement of study and non-study drug supplies.

• Conduct QA/QC activities and prepare for audits and monitoring visits.

• Maintain pharmacy regulatory documentation, infrastructure, and equipment.
