SUMMARY:

An established manufacturer of agrochemicals is seeking the above to assist the R&D team with various projects whilst completing a 12-month graduate training programme.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must have a degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, Horticulture, Viticulture, Oenology or related
Good communication and report-writing skills are essential
Previous practical laboratory experience and exposure to handling chemicals will be required
Exposure to plant pathology and/or microbial laboratory practices would be ideal
Must have reliable transport and be willing to work after hours when required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Carrying out laboratory functions as per SOP’s and required by the R&D Team Leader.
Handling and preparing chemical substances.
Preparing complex microbial culture media.
Sub-culturing and isolating microbial spores, cells and cultures.
Preparing seed, growth chambers and Myco spores, including sterilization and sanitation processes.
Providing assistance on research projects, such as feedstock studies, liquid product formulation development and product compatibility tests.
Assisting with R&D trials, including field work.
Preparing reports of completed lab work and assisting with ad hoc duties.
Ensuring good housekeeping and good laboratory practices are adhered to.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
