POSITION INFO:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Civil Engineer, Technician or Technologist with a minimum of 20 years’ experience.
- SACPCMP qualification and ECSA registration would be advantageous.
- Proven experience in construction monitoring and site supervision of contract work involving civil, structural and mechanical interfaces, including at least one contract related to large diameter welded steel pipelines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Quick learner with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence and own vehicle is essential, with a willingness to travel as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Project as a minimum).
- Candidate will be based in Thabazimbi or Lephalale.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- General project management.
- Contract administration and/or assistance.
- Monitoring and reporting on the contractor’s programme and financial expenditure.
- Ensuring implementation of the engineer’s quality monitoring plan and overseeing the contractor’s quality control plan.
- Conducting site audits, inspections, quality control testing, and the approval or rejection of work.
- Measurement and certification of completed work, including cash flow forecasting.
- Facilitating regular site meetings with the contractor, employer and engineer, and maintaining accurate minutes.
- Issuing site instructions, variation orders, drawings, and other relevant documentation.
- Compiling reports and as-built data in accordance with the employer’s standard requirements.
