Revenue Accountant

POSITION INFO:
A leading international business is seeking a Revenue Accountant to support a portfolio of UK-based clients. Working closely with Finance Business Partners and operational teams, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of client accounts, ensuring accurate revenue reporting, strong working capital control, and effective forecasting.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, strong systems exposure, and a solid understanding of revenue recognition principles in a commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Monthly Revenue Reporting

• Deliver accurate monthly revenue reporting in line with agreed deadlines
• Ensure revenue is recognised and reported in line with US GAAP requirements
• Manage intercompany revenue and cost transactions, ensuring no mismatches between entities
• Provide clear explanations on material variances between actual revenue and forecast
• Ensure supporting documentation for revenue recognition is maintained for audit purposes

Working Capital Management

• Perform monthly reconciliations for accrued and deferred revenue balances
• Agree balances with client leads and escalate high-risk or aged items
• Participate in monthly working capital meetings with senior finance leadership

Client Team Support

• Act as the day-to-day finance contact for client leads
• Provide ongoing support on client P&Ls and rolling forecasts
• Support teams with financial system setup and billing processes
• Run weekly WIP reviews and support month-end revenue cut-offs
• Ensure client teams meet key reporting deadlines and requirements

General

• Contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancements
• Support the adoption of commercial best practices and improved weekly forecasting

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:

• Part-qualified accountant or qualified by experience
• ACCA / CIMA (study support available)

Experience:

• Proven experience in revenue accounting and financial management of client portfolios
• Strong exposure to billing / sales order processing systems
• Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite / Adaptive Insights advantageous)
• Experience within professional services / agency environments advantageous
• Exposure to managing revenue for large international clients (project-based or asset-based revenue beneficial)
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP and US GAAP

• Proven ability to analyse large volumes of data
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong time management with consistent deadline delivery
