Risk Analyst

SUMMARY:

Our client, a leader in the financial industry, is looking for a dynamic experienced Risk Analyst to join their team in Cape Town. The Risk Analyst will be responsible for performing various duties to aid in protecting the firm against financial losses.

Responsibilities

• Providing analysis that measures and monitors credit (client and counterparty), operational, liquidity, and market risk and working to mitigate identified risks.
• Producing and circulating of daily margin calls and coordinating solutions to resolve outstanding margin calls.
• Establishing, monitoring, and reporting on Key Risk Indicators and risk controls.
• Implementing corrective action plans to mitigate risks.
• Working closely with Risk Managers to support them in their roles.
• Applying and entrenching the GPP Risk Management Framework and Policy.
• Liaising with operations teams and assisting with client queries where necessary.

• 1-3 years of experience in a Risk Analyst or similar role within Financial Services.
• Strong Excel skills are important and experience with trading tools like Bloomberg and IRESS is useful.
• Presentation skills including confidence in speaking in front of a small audience and using PowerPoint
• An undergraduate degree is a requirement.  Further qualifications such as Honours/Masters in a finance related field, or risk management designations such as FRM, IRM, or CFA would be advantageous.
