SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Risk Manager to lead a small team of Junior Analysts and play a hands-on role in daily market and credit risk oversight within a high-performance trading environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and proactive professional to step into a leadership position while maintaining involvement in daily P&L, risk reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

POSITION INFO:
Job Title: Risk Manager (Commodities / Trading Environment)

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and mentor a team of 3–5 Junior Risk Analysts.
Oversee the accurate and timely entry and maintenance of physical and derivatives trades within reporting systems.
Own the calculation and delivery of daily risk and P&L reports; and explain key drivers to traders and senior stakeholders.
Proactively identify and communicate any anomalies or risks in reporting processes.
Contribute to the enhancement of reporting tools and systems through process development.
Communicate effectively across traders, finance, and executive leadership.
Participate in ad hoc analytical tasks and risk-focused projects as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

A Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field with a strong academic record (2.1 or above, or equivalent).
3–7 years of experience in accounting, financial services, or within a commodity trading house.
Exposure to oil, gas, or energy trading environments is highly advantageous.
Strong technical and coding skills; VBA or Python is an advantage.
Team leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
Proven analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to simplify and communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Resilient and flexible, able to deliver under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
