Risk Manager

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Risk Manager to lead a small team of Junior Analysts and play a hands-on role in daily market and credit risk oversight within a high-performance trading environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and proactive professional to step into a leadership position while maintaining involvement in daily P&L, risk reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

POSITION INFO:
Job Title: Risk Manager (Commodities / Trading Environment)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor a team of 3–5 Junior Risk Analysts.
• Oversee the accurate and timely entry and maintenance of physical and derivatives trades within reporting systems.
• Own the calculation and delivery of daily risk and P&L reports; and explain key drivers to traders and senior stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and communicate any anomalies or risks in reporting processes.
• Contribute to the enhancement of reporting tools and systems through process development.
• Communicate effectively across traders, finance, and executive leadership.
• Participate in ad hoc analytical tasks and risk-focused projects as required.

• A Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field with a strong academic record (2.1 or above, or equivalent).
• 3–7 years of experience in accounting, financial services, or within a commodity trading house.
• Exposure to oil, gas, or energy trading environments is highly advantageous.
• Strong technical and coding skills; VBA or Python is an advantage.
• Team leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
• Proven analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to simplify and communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
