SUMMARY:
Our client in the Mining Industry has an opportunity available for a Risk Officer in the Brits area.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent
Diploma in Risk Management is advantageous
Assessor/Moderator Certificate is advantageous
Certificate in Occupational health and safety Risk Assess-ment and Management (e.g., SAMTRAC, etc.)
Certificate in Mine health and Safety legislation
Auditors certificate
Computer Literate in MS Office, SAP and other specialised technical programs
Experience of at least two (2) years’ in the risk management reports compilation, reporting and monitoring
Experience of at least five (5) years’ in the engineering, plants and mining
Medical Certificate of Fitness

KPAs:

Designing and implementing an overall workplace risk management process for the organisation, which includes an analysis of prevailing hazards and management thereof
Performing a risk assessment: Analysing current risks and identifying potential risks that may affect the company
Performing a risk evaluation: Evaluating the company’s previous handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such remedial actions and legal requirements
Continuously evaluate the level of risk the company should to take in relation to life saving behaviours, fatal hazards protocol and creating continuity plans to limit risks
Preparing risk management and implementation of required risk controls
Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors
