POSITION INFO:

Risk Surveyor Job Summary:

The Risk Surveyor is responsible for surveying buildings, properties and commercial businesses for potential fire, theft and other peril code exposures. The Risk Surveyor is furthermore responsible for preparing detailed Survey Reports in which key observations and pertinent risk information is relayed to the Underwriting division so that informed risk management decisions can be made to protect the Company from potential over exposure.

Traveling nation-wide to conduct risk surveys comes with the territory. A valid South-African drivers license with own reliable transport is therefore essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- NQF Level 5 SAMTRAC Qualification or Fire Prevention and Safety Strategies Certification
- A qualification in Short-Term Insurance will be highly advantageous.

Experience Required:
- Work experience or exposure within the Fire Brigade or similar - Fire Prevention and Health & Safety Industry/ Services
- At least 3 years relevant work experience as a Surveyor within a licensed Insurer/ Risk Carrier/ Corporate Underwriter
- Previous work experience as a Commercial Short-Term Insurance Underwriter - advantageous
