SAFETY OFFICER Cape Town | Building & Construction Projects

POSITION INFO:
A leading building contractor is seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to oversee health and safety compliance across building projects throughout Cape Town. Key Responsibilities Implement and maintain health & safety standards across construction sites. Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with the OHS Act, Construction Regulations and relevant legislation. Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe working practices. Conduct toolbox talks, inductions and safety training. Maintain safety files, registers, reports and required documentation. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures. Liaise with site management, contractors and relevant authorities. Requirements SACPCMP registration as a Safety Officer is essential. Relevant Health & Safety qualification. Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Safety Officer on building\/construction projects. Strong knowledge of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations. Experience working on building projects and managing subcontractor compliance. Excellent communication, administration and reporting skills. Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport. Ability to work across multiple construction sites throughout Cape Town.
