SAFETY OFFICER - FMCG (SOMERSET WEST)

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
What You'll Do:

• Implement and uphold comprehensive safety policies and procedures, adhering to OHSA legislation.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Investigate workplace incidents thoroughly, implement corrective actions, and share learnings with the team.
• Deliver engaging safety training programs and workshops to educate and empower employees.
• Monitor and oversee safe work practices across all production areas and departments.
• Maintain accurate and detailed safety records and documentation.
• Collaborate with management and other team members to promote a positive safety culture.
• Stay up-to-date on evolving safety regulations and best practices.

• National Diploma in Safety Management or related qualification.
• 3-5 years' experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven understanding and application of OHSA regulations and principles.
• Solid knowledge and experience conducting Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA).
• Demonstrated ability to investigate workplace incidents effectively and impartially.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address safety concerns.
• Proactive, meticulous, and detail-oriented approach to ensure safety compliance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
