SALES / ACCOUNT MANAGER – FRUIT INDUSTRY (Bellville, Cape Town)

SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales / Account Manager who has experience and networks in the FRUIT INDUSTRY (liaising with growers / producers / farmers). Selling Software Solutions to customers in the fruit industry (for export, logistics and supply chain purposes).

SALES / ACCOUNT MANAGER – FRUIT INDUSTRY

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales / Account Manager who has experience and networks in the FRUIT INDUSTRY (liaising with growers / producers / farmers). Selling Software Solutions to customers in the fruit industry (for export, logistics and supply chain purposes).

Job Purpose: To identify sales and marketing opportunities with new and existing customers in industry whilst contributing to the smooth service delivery of software solutions developed for customers. The role focus on 3 main areas – Sales & Marketing, Customer Service Delivery and Product Development.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum matric with combined relevant industry experience (at least 4 to 5 years)
A relevant tertiary qualification will be an advantage but is not required if experience is relevant and significant.
Experience in the Fruit Industry (Logistics, Supply Chain, Software Solutions) is essential
Experience and relationships with fruit producers / growers / farmers are preferred
Experience in Account Management, Sales or New Business development is required for this role (minimum 3 t 5 years)
Tech Savvy is required (you will be working with highly skilled IT team, you do not need to have IT skills – you will be trained on the systems – you must however know systems and how they work in this industry– previous experience on systems will be an advantage)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales & Marketing:

• Follow up on leads and identify potential new customers suited to developed software solutions
• Build networks and connections with customers in the industry to leverage from
• Identify potential "shows/ symposiums/ conferences" to visit to showcase software
• Contribute to the development of marketing material, social media and brochures to assist with creating market awareness
• Assist with commercial model definitions for new and existing software solutions
• Find opportunities in the industry where software could be the solution
• Responsible for the sales process from lead generation up to closing of the deal and then handing over to the Delivery team

Customer Service Delivery:

• Ultimately owns the client - be the face of the company
• Engage with the Delivery team to ensure what was promised to customer is what is being delivered
• Stay on top of customer implementations with regards to timing and budget
• Ensure smooth and effortless service delivery to the client whilst managing client relationships
• The "go to" person for customers and internal teams should there be issues to resolve
• Ensuring contracts, quotes and SLA''s signed with new and existing customers

Product Development:

• Understanding market trends and how it relates to the development of new products
• Highlight possible new opportunities in the industry to Product Owner
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in current systems
• Assist with product development roadmap for products to align with market and business needs
• Conduct occasional user acceptance testing to ensure product enhancements are understood
• Ensure customers are kept abreast of new developments and all software related initiatives
