This is an external, field-based business development role suited to a commercially driven salesperson who enjoys customer interaction, technical solution selling, developing new business and building long-term industrial relationships. The successful candidate will be expected to identify customer requirements, develop new opportunities, grow existing accounts and work closely with internal technical and workshop teams to provide appropriate solutions. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with industrial customers. Identify and secure new business opportunities. Conduct regular customer and site visits. Develop business within industrial and engineering environments. Engage with maintenance, engineering, production, procurement and other technical decision-makers. Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions. Prepare quotations and actively follow up opportunities. Work closely with internal technical and workshop teams. Present technical solutions professionally to customers. Identify opportunities for repair, refurbishment, maintenance and engineering services. Develop opportunities arising from planned maintenance and shutdown activities. Monitor market and competitor activity. Achieve agreed sales and business development targets. Maintain accurate CRM and sales records. TARGET CUSTOMER ENVIRONMENT The successful candidate will develop business within sectors such as: Mining Manufacturing Steel Engineering Industrial Processing Food & Beverage Chemical \/ Process Industries Utilities & Power Industrial Contractors OEM \/ Equipment environments Industrial Maintenance IDEAL EXPERIENCE We are particularly interested in candidates who have previously sold technical products, equipment, engineering services or industrial solutions into manufacturing, mining, engineering, maintenance or production environments. Experience in areas such as: Industrial electrical equipment Mechanical equipment Rotating equipment Drives \/ motors Bearings \/ power transmission Pumps Gearboxes Automation Industrial maintenance Engineering services Technical equipment Industrial repair \/ refurbishment will be advantageous. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Grade 12 minimum. Minimum 5 years'' external sales experience. Proven external technical \/ industrial sales experience. Previous experience selling into industrial or engineering environments. Sound electrical and\/or mechanical understanding. Ability to understand customer technical requirements. Proven new business development ability. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Self-motivated and commercially driven. Computer literate. CRM experience advantageous. Valid Code EB driver''s licence. Own reliable vehicle. Willingness to travel extensively. Stable employment history. Traceable and contactable references. Local residency or willingness to relocate.
