SUMMARY:
SENIOR SALES MANAGER

POSITION INFO:

Well established Company specialising in the manufacture of Technical Textiles has a vacancy for a SALES MANAGER for Durban.  A strong Manufaturing background is essential for this position.  Technical ability and Sales Driven.

The successful Candidate will be responsible and accountable for sales & tactical plans to ensure that annual budget; forecasting and sales targets are achieved. Provide guidance and supervision to the team. Assist in developing strategies that ensures that BBF Safety Group remains competitive and profitable. Participate in product development projects and manage both direct customers and the distribution channel to achieve revenue and profitability goals, while building the BBF Safety Group Brand. Analyse sector market and trade intelligence gathered by KAM’s to determine sales potential, inventory requirements and monitor customer preferences.

Duties and responsibilities

 

Sales Management

  • Preparing and supervising tendering processes
  • Business development by identifying new and potential customers  
  • Creation of a sales forecast and planning
  • Liaise with production and logistics regarding customer orders
  • Liaise with internal sales in processing customer orders  
  • Develop suitable contracts and pricing for customers
  • Compile and analyse sales performance  reports  

 Gather Market Sector Intelligence 

  • Input into product development and innovation
  • Conduct market research and customer analysis
  • Liaise with key stakeholders on our products and services
  • Market analysis and risk management
  • Promote and communicate on the business product offering
  • Approve promotional material

Provides timely, accurate and competitive pricing on Product to Prospect Customers

Participate in the Development and Implementation of the Sales Strategy and Business Plan

Indicators           

  • Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.

Manage and lead Sales Representative (People Management)

Indicators           

  • Participate in developing pricing strategies,
  • Balance organisational objectives with customer satisfaction and requirements.
  • Identify, develop, and evaluate Sales strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and mark-up factors.
  • Manage Human Resources Functions e.g. Recruiting, Training & Development, Succession Planning,

Maintain Accurate Records of Pricing, Sales and Activity Reports

  • Performance Reviews for Sales Representatives
  • Provide coaching, guidance and counselling to the team

Identify new Markets

Indicators

  • Ensure that pricing strategy and guidelines are adhered to in negotiating customer contracts
  • Ensure that sales administration provides required sales reporting
  • Assess marketing potential of new and existing markets
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products

Customer Service

  • Staying abreast of customer requirements for existing and future products.
  • Monitoring the activities of the competition.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.

  • National Diploma - Sales/Marketing
  • B Com  Degree

  • Preferably has a technical background.
