SUMMARY:

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

A leader in long and short haul transporting offers an opportunity to a suitable qualified Accountant at their head office in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.

POSITION INFO:
RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries. Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet profit and loss, and other statements. Analyse financial trends. Monthly Finance Reporting. VAT Preparation and submissions. Creating payment batches Manage weekly and monthly payments. Completes external audit by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors. Assist with internal audits when required Prepare Forecast costs and Revenues. Prepare Budgets. Maintenance on asset registers Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements. Secures financial information by completing database backups.
