JOB SUMMARY:
Wellington Area – Western Cape: Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the team.
Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

BComm Accounting / Financial Management with 4 years post articles experience or CIMA/CA with at least two years post articles experience
Must have a good understanding of cash flow and cash flow management
High Level of attention to detail
Problem solver that can take initiative
Strong knowledge of MS Office programs, particularly Excel (Advance Excel)
Ability to maintain high standards under pressure
Ability to work as part of a team
Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
Experience in the agricultural industry would be advantageous
Excellent time management and organizational ability
Experience with accounting software – Xero and Sage Evolution would be advantageous
Supervisory skills – Ability to supervise junior and intermediate accountants and provide leadership

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Weekly review of Cash flow forecasts
Coordination of the submission of the annual budgets, forecasting and ad-hoc short-term estimate process as well as the various respective reporting packs
Analyze complex financial records and reports
Provide management with account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties
Responsible for the overseeing the timely submission of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual results including all supporting schedules, slides, and commentary for all relevant countries and provide strategic direction based on analysis
Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial controls and supporting information systems of the company.
Ensure compliance with accounting and tax policies as well as internal control framework by managing internal processes and procedures
Assist auditors with information requests and queries during the year-end audit
Compile board -packs
Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
Support senior finance in ad hoc reporting, projects, and expansion plan
