SHEQ Manager

SUMMARY:
A local mine around Rustenburg has a position available for a Safety Manager Mining and / or Projects

POSITION INFO:
 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
3-year degree/3 year diploma (Either specialising in safety, engineering or process/mining) is essential
Blasting Certificate, Mine Manager & Mine Overseer is essential
At least 4-6 years relevant experience within a safety environment, or mining/production at an equivalent level
Experience as a Safety Officer would be an advantage
The successful candidate must have a valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain one

COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of work-related hazards and associated risks
Understanding of human behaviour and the impact of cultural differences on human behaviour
Knowledge of plant- and mining processes
Impala standards and procedures (including HR policies) knowledge
Relevant safety legislation, i.e. Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and COID Act
International Standards (ISO), i.e. OHSAS18000, ISO9001, ISO14001
Computer literacy and presentation skills
Facilitation, report writing and auditing skills
How to conduct a root cause / fault tree analysis (investigation skills)
Verbal and written communication skills (internal and external
