SHEQ Officer

SUMMARY:
Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the FMCG Sector is looking to employ a SHEQ Officer to join their dynamic team in Cape Town (Brackenfell).

POSITION INFO:
Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular internal SHE inspections and audits.
• Maintain and update SHE documentation, organograms, and legal appointments.
• Respond to and investigate incidents, accidents, spills, and emergencies.
• Liaise with contractors and maintenance teams to ensure compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and assist with Safe Work procedures and training.
• Deliver SHE and Food Safety inductions for employees and contractors.
• Assist with the implementation of SHEQ Management documentation.
• Conduct internal GMP audits and support readiness for external audits.
• Investigate and track customer complaints, non-conformances, and product returns.
• Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly SHEQ reports.

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety / Food Technology / BSc Science / Quality Management Systems
• First Aid Level 2 and Fire Prevention certification
• SAMTRAC certification or similar (advantageous)
• Exposure to FSSC2200 (V6.1 advantageous)
• 2–4 years relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Must be willing to work overtime, when required
