Overview

As the Senior SQL and BI Specialist, you will have a great understanding of big data, business intelligence, and enterprise and cloud technologies. A senior/expert level in MS SQL with a strong understanding of the ETL environment, you are able to build reliable solutions that are fit for purpose, perform well with large data volume and complex insights, and follow analytical data transformation rules.

Minimum Requirements:

Degree in Information Systems / Computer Science

6 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role

5 + years’ experience in Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, PowerBI), cloud technologies and big data frameworks

Strong background in both BAU and Project based work

Exposure to DevOps

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Agile delivery (Scrum or variation) using tools such as JIRA

Familiar with Web Analytics (especially GTM)

Knowledge of CI/CD, TDD, automation test suites

Working with blended onshore/offshore delivery teams

Previous experience in fintech and/or Insurance industry

Duties and Responsibilities:

Be the SME for all things related to data and reporting technologies

Work with partners and customers to create and deliver the data strategy

Provide operational support and ensure availability of business-critical database systems

Ensure all database systems are built to the highest possible levels of quality

Own the data strategy and technology roadmap for all EDM/BI systems

Maintain knowledge of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices

Evaluate new technologies being considered for new products/systems

Work closely with the Head of Engineering and actively look for opportunities for improvements to ensure all systems can scale appropriately to meet SLAs

Identify opportunities for cost savings in operations and system designs

Work with Business teams, Project Managers, Iteration Managers, Business Analysts, and Test engineers to support and deliver enterprise-grade system
