SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER – WEST RAND (3898)

The main purpose of the position is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials between departments and according to production schedules, keeping clients’ projects firmly on track. Managerial oversight of purchasing, planning and physical inventory and the maintenance of inventory levels and warehouse knowledge is essential.

Qualifications:

• Completed Matric / Grade 12
• Be in possession of a Supply Chain Management Qualification

Experience and Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years supply chain management experience dealing with raw materials within the Manufacturing industry
• Computer literate: MS Office Suite and Syspro (advanced skills)
• A stable work record and contactable references
• Be a self – starter (able to work before and after hours)
• Reside on the West Rand
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transport (own vehicle)
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate staff

Duties and Responsibilities:

Staff management within Company Policy guidelines:

• Managerial oversight of Purchasing Department
• Constant interaction with all suppliers in conjunction with buyer
• Full company costing from A-Z, Freight Forwarders (etc.)
• Control and implement costing structures
• Full control of all Warehouses
• Report on a weekly basis to Head Office via Teams call, inventory values and reduction of inventory initiatives

Purchasing

• Ensure orders are placed accurately and timeously
• Ensure three quote system is utilized at all time
• Ensure bet price and payment terms are always obtained
• Ensure best quality to meet the company standards
• Ensure expediting of orders placed is done daily
• Ensure planning of long lead items to fit company needs
• Arrange supplier audits in conjunction with SHEQ Manager

Planning

• Understanding of full planning function from raw materials to production facility
• Ability to guide planner regarding material lead times and expediting of raw material purchasers
• Strict guidelines in place to ensure all raw materials are available for production to meet delivery schedules

Stores

• Coordinate and expedite materials and workflows between departments according to production schedule
• Manage & control entire warehouse stock and integrity in conjunction with Warehouse Supervisor
• Ensure that the Sales department is supported with feedback where necessary • Ensure Warehouse Supervisor takes full control of all goods Receiving and Dispatch
• Ensure that Warehouse Supervisor distributes all necessary documents for stock received to relevant staff to be booked into Syspro on the same day as received
• Ensure Work In Progress is issued and captured in conjunction with Warehouse Supervisor and WIP Clerk
• Ensure full house keeping is maintained in line with SHEQ Department
• Ensure that cycle counts are perform on a regular basis
• Full control of stock takes in conjunction with Finance Department
• Ensure that the stock in the warehouse is binned and labeled correctly
• Take full control and responsibility for all inventory and reduce stock levels and increase stock turn
