JOB SUMMARY:
Our client in the mining industry, has an opportunity available for a Safety Manager to be based in the Thabazimbi, Limpopo area.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

National Diploma / Degree (NQF Level 6 in Safety Management).
SAMTRAC/MRSM/SHEBA with HIRA-Incident Investigations and other related courses.
Technical qualification relevant to the industry (i.e. Mine Overseer/Certificate Government Certificate of Competency/GCC in Engineering/Metallurgical Qualification)
Experience as Chief Safety Officer/Manager a requirement
Intimate knowledge of all applicable legislation relating to Safety and Health, Environment and Risk (SHER)
Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001

KPAs:

Develop occupational health, safety, environment and risk (SHER) management plans and reporting systems to all regulatory authorities and operational management, supporting the Mine strategy by developing an annual SHER plan.
Manage financial budgets and cost control measures in support of the operational strategy.
Determine the risk exposure and formulate management action plans to mitigate the risk and incorporate management risk plans into standards and safe work procedures.
Lead the SHER team, plan and allocate and assess their Key Performance Areas (KPA’s).
