JOB SUMMARY:
Safety Officer Registered with SACPCMP as a Health and Safety Officer (Proof of Registration is required)

Must have worked on an Eskom building project and preference shall be given to applications with SHERQ experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties:

Co-ordination and Management of on-site Health & Safety Officers and representatives
Responsible for all health and safety concerns pertaining to the company
Responsible for continual improvement of the OHS system
Performance monitoring
Advise top management on industry best practices and implementation thereof
Compile, implement and maintain a safety, health and environment training matrix to ensure trained and competent employees
First Aid, Fire Fighting, Legal Liability, Scaffolding, Working at heights etc.)
Keeping abreast of OHS legislation & informing Directors and relevant parties
Attend workshops and meetings in the related field
Developing training material for inductions, awareness and training workshops
Conducting employee inductions, training and awareness workshops as and when required
Conduct and compile risk assessments
Ensure hazards are kept to a minimum and actioned promptly
Draft policies on Health and Safety related matters as the need arises
Manage budgets and savings associated with the effective management of the SHERQ function
Manage personnel regarding SHERQ related matters
Conduct formal site safety inspections/ audits and provide audit reports at set frequencies to top management based on site inspections

Our Client is a building contractor who will be busy with a refurbishment of an existing building structure on an Eskom building.

This appointment is for a 12 month LDC appointment
