Looking for a Safety Officer with Underground Mining certification. Mid-level experience required.

POSITION INFO:

Safety Officer (Underground Mining Certified)

Position: Safety Officer – Underground Mining
Sector: Mining / Underground Operations
Seniority Level: Mid Career (2 - 4 yrs exp)
Minimum Requirements

COMSOC 1 & 2 or relevant Safety Qualification
Valid SACPCMP registration advantageous
Valid Red Ticket / Medical Fitness Certificate
Minimum 3–5 years underground mining safety experience
Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act regulations
Underground mining safety certification required

Mandatory Certifications

Valid Working at Heights Certificate
Confined Space Certificate
Power Tools Training Certificate

Key Responsibilities

Monitor compliance with underground safety regulations
Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments
Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings
Investigate incidents and compile reports
Ensure all personnel comply with PPE requirements
Maintain safety documentation and records
Promote a strong safety culture onsite
