Job & Company Description Our client is a well-established supplier of electronic components, providing innovative solutions to a broad range of industries. They are seeking a driven External Sales Engineer to develop and maintain customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and provide technical support and product recommendations to customers throughout the Western Cape region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing existing accounts, growing market share, conducting customer visits, presenting technical solutions, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure exceptional service delivery. Education The successful candidate must possess one of the following qualifications: Higher Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (NQF Level 5) National N Diploma (N4-N6) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (NQF Level 6) Diploma in Engineering Technology (Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering) (NQF Level 6) Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEngTech) in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering (NQF Level 7) Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering (NQF Level 8) Job Experience & Skills Required Previous experience in a technical sales environment within the electronics industry would be highly advantageous Strong understanding of electronic components and related technologies Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships Comfortable interacting with engineers, technical teams, and procurement professionals Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Ability to identify customer requirements and provide suitable technical solutions Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development Valid driver's licence is essential Clear criminal record Must currently reside in Cape Town or surrounding areas Willingness to travel within the Western Cape region as required Duties and Responsibilities Develop and grow existing customer accounts Identify and secure new business opportunities Conduct regular client visits and technical presentations Provide product recommendations and technical support to customers Prepare quotations and follow up on sales opportunities Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction Monitor market trends and competitor activity Achieve and exceed sales targets and business objectives Apply now!
