HIRING | Sales Manager — Packaging Manufacturer Based: Johannesburg West, Gauteng Salary: R30 000 – R50 000 per month + R5 000 petrol allowance + commission Permanent position

A packaging manufacturer is looking for a Sales Manager to lead its sales function and grow revenue. You'll still sell — key accounts stay yours while you build the reps around you.

POSITION INFO:
Introduction An established packaging manufacturer is seeking a Sales Manager to lead its sales function, grow revenue and develop the sales team. This is a role for a proven sales leader who still sells - you will carry key accounts personally while building the capability of the reps around you. Duties & Responsibilities Lead, manage and develop the external sales team Set, monitor and drive individual and team sales targets Personally manage and grow key strategic accounts Develop and execute the sales strategy for the business Conduct regular field visits with representatives - coaching in the field, not from the office Analyse sales performance, margins and pipeline, and report to senior management Manage pricing structures, discount approvals and margin protection Identify new market opportunities and drive new business development Build and maintain relationships with major customers at decision-maker level Work closely with production and planning to ensure customer commitments are achievable Manage customer escalations and resolve high-level account issues Minimum Requirements Matric \/ Grade 12 Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing or Business advantageous Minimum 8 years' B2B sales experience, of which at least 3 years must be in a sales management or team leadership capacity Packaging, manufacturing or industrial sales background strongly preferred Demonstrable track record of growing revenue and managing a sales team to target Valid Code 08 driver's licence and own reliable vehicle Computer literate - MS Office, with strong Excel and reporting ability Available to work Saturdays Skills & Competencies Proven ability to lead, motivate and hold a sales team accountable Strong commercial and margin awareness Confident negotiator at senior decision-maker level Strategic thinker who executes rather than theorises Excellent communication and presentation skills Resilient and comfortable carrying revenue responsibility Additional Information Saturday work is required. A company vehicle may be considered depending on the candidate and performance.
