Sales Support Engineer

SUMMARY:
One of my clients based in Midrand is looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer or Sales Support Engineer to join their company on a permanent basis.

POSITION INFO:

Job & Company Description:

• To provide product related support, technical customer support, pre- and post-sales support and technical consultancy on their products, all aspects of RF engineering and related technologies (such as LTE, 5G, WiFi, etc) to both internal and external customers.
• To support internal departments with technical, marketing and sales related aspects to provide customer delight and enhance our market presence.
• To develop technical material (product, RF engineering & related technology) for customers (internal & external), marketing, sales, media, website, etc.
• Provide technical (RF, electrical & mechanical) advice and support to the customers, sales departments, regional BUs and other divisions regarding on their products, all aspects of RF engineering and related technologies.
• Promptly respond to customer and sales enquiries by providing detailed, informative and qualitive technical replies.
• Create interaction and support related technical aspects on forums, community pages, social media, website, etc.
• Handling of customer fault reports, complaints and concerns by delighting the customer in return.
• As a specialist on RF products and RF technology, provide authoritative technical consultation & advise to the various BU sales counterparts, customers and projects.
• Stay abreast and informed of RF aspects & related technologies.
• Ensure product management and sales are aware of possible market changes, customer requirements, etc.
• Provide pre-sales technical support, product assessments and inputs to sales and customers.
• Support Tenders (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and other customer enquiries
• Pass on sales leads and opportunities to account managers
• Inform and discuss on regular basis with sales and product management technical matters, product opportunities and market related information
• Supporting of technical field activities, such as RF & performance benchmarking exercises, test measurements, product & prototype trials and demos to enhance customer engagement and understanding of our products and their performance.
• Provide ongoing after sales support to partners/customers to keep them engaged and interested in the products and solutions.
• Provide support to partners/customers to address any challenges that may experience with the products and solutions.
• Resolving customer complaints and requests (technical & operational) by providing inputs (where applicable) to improve products and processes. 
• Maintain customer retention through continued follow up & excellent service assurance
• Creation of technical marketing material, white papers, presentations, webinars, reference & case studies, application notes, FAQ, etc.
• Creation of interesting articles, tools and media content to enhance brand and product awareness for the purpose of growing sales.
• Support marketing events such as exhibitions, customer events and other marketing events (online and off site).
• Conduct market, technology and product research to support product management, engineering and sales.
• Ensure that product management and sales are aware of possible market changes, technology evolution and customer requirements from customer feedback, research and support enquiries.

Education:

• BSc / BEng / BTech Electronic Engineering or similar 3- or 4-year degree (in electronics / RF engineering)

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Knowledge of RF, wireless technologies & antenna technology on engineer level
• Presentation & Training Skills
• Experience in customer service, support and sales
• Understanding of marketing principles
• Technical Writing
• Technical Sales / Sales Support Engineering experience
• Customer Support experience
• Technical Consultation experience (needs to be an authority in the field)
• High degree of computer literacy
• Great verbal and writing skills in English
• An interest in telecommunication and antenna technology is a plus
